Our Services

Diabetes Care

The Center for Diabetes Care at Indiana Regional Medical Center is dedicated to providing a wide range of services and programs for people with diabetes. In addition to supporting the needs of inpatients with diabetes, the program offers a comprehensive outpatient education program and specialized services, that focus on meeting individual needs.

In February 2003, the American Diabetes Association recognized the diabetes program for meeting the national standards for diabetes self-management education. Programs that achieve recognition status have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide participants with education about all aspects of diabetes care.

Gestational Diabetes

Diabetes education and counseling are provided to women who develop diabetes during pregnancy.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring

This advance in technology allows a patient’s blood glucose levels to be continuously recorded over a period of two to three days. The information obtained is used to improve the understanding of patient-specific patterns of glucose control and support diabetes management decisions.

Insulin Pumps

Meet one-on-one with a certified pump trainer for pump assessment and education.

Diabetes Support Group

The diabetes program educators run a free, bimonthly program for people with diabetes and their families. These meetings offer support for and interaction with other people with diabetes as well as lectures that provide information and education. For more information about meeting dates and times, call 724.357.7164.
